Iceland – Iceland enjoys 21% growth in MICE Tourism

According to a report by Iceland Tourism Research & Consulting, 2016 was a fruitful year for the MICE sector in Iceland. For the first time, Iceland welcomed over 100.000 MICE travelers. Although 2016 was a record year by every measure, Iceland has enjoyed double-digit growth numbers every year since 2011 when Harpa Concert Hall & Conference Centre opened its doors.

Reykjavík, Iceland is quickly becoming a popular year-round destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) and it is not just the spectacular scenery, its closeness with nature or the interesting people that are attracting growing number of international companies and organizations to Iceland. Reykjavík is also being chosen for its high-tech infrastructure, security, ultimate venues, great food and comfortable hotels. Not to mention its convenient location midway between North America and Europe and surprisingly high number of airlines that offer direct flights to Keflavik International Airport.
