China – The World MICE Day 2017 Exceeded all Expectations

Last month, the 1st edition of the World MICE Industry Day, organized by the BIT Group Global Ltd, took place in Qingdao, China. Qingdao is a famous convention and exhibition city in China, and it hosted many influential international exhibitions. Qingdao is one of the top ten modern and vigorous economic cities, also one of the top ten business cities in China. Qingdao has named as the world’s most beautiful bay.

To accelerate the Internationalization of Qingdao Metropolis, Qingdao City will establish local Convention Bureau in 2017. To echo the great incentive policy initiated by the Government, BIT Congress is the Planning and Operating Corporation to support the resilience Strategies of MICE Industry under the auspice of Qingdao Municipal Government.

Under the theme “Boosting Silk Road Meeting Industry”, the forum has been brought to life to showcase China as a wonderful and resourceful MICE destination. Once more, a rich variety of Chinese MICE Solution Providers came to Qingdao to represent their destination and build strong relationships with leading event planners keen on finding new business partnership.

This year, the event was hosted at the Shangri La Qingdao. All participants were accomodated at the Shangri La Qingdao or at the Hilton Golden Beach. According to the organizing committee, the event attracted more than 150 exhibitors, over 400 overseas and domestic hosted buyers and over 2,000 participants. It offered an efficient way to acknowledge the latest developments of MICE Industry as well as lead to business cooperation.

Mr. Martin Stevens of Forum Worldwide was honored to be opening speaker at the event and was also appointed as Ambassador to Qingdao by the Mayor and government administration. Mr. Stevens of New York graciously accepted the honor and will work with the city of Qingdao to increase its exposure to event and meeting planners around the world over his two-year appointment.

The three-day events comprises 6 professional programs including:

  • Keynote Forum for government representatives,
  • MICE Industry Forum for PXOs,
  • MICE Organization Forum,
  • MICE Partnership Forum,
  • Technology and Innovation Forum,
  • PSA (Pre Scheduled Appointments)/Training Courses.

Aimed to provide a professional communication platform for the MICE people around the globe, World MICE Day 2017 invited world-known entrepreneurs, training experts and related professionals from MICE industry to share ideas, successful stories, and guide attendees from domestic and overseas through our unique training events and sessions. Participants of WMD-2017 also discovered the latest trend of MICE industry, and experts from different countries shared their latest skills in transferring MICE business through modern technologies.

The World MICE Day 2017 was highly successful and the participants learned of the many opportunities available in Qingdao to bring incentive and travel groups, meetings and conventions.
